Massachusetts Community Action and Care for the Medically Uninsured Grants

Community Action and Care for the Medically Uninsured Grants will support physician-led volunteer initiatives to provide free care to uninsured/underinsured patients and increase access to care for medically underserved populations in Massachusetts.
Programs may provide direct care services or target public health issues that impact the healthcare system and the health of communities.
Funding priorities include:
- Projects that affect the health and well-being of the community through prevention, screening, early detection, health promotion, and increased access to care
- Projects that promote healthy decision making and behaviors through culturally appropriate education and awareness campaigns
- Physician-led volunteer initiatives that provide free care to uninsured and/or underinsured populations
- Projects that enable underserved, at-risk populations to engage in activities that promote health and identify risky behaviors which contribute to diminished health
Nonprofit organizations located in Massachusetts are eligible to apply.
No amount is specified. Grants awarded in 2017 ranged from $2,000 - $25,000.
