As part of the Continuum of Care (CoC) program, HUD will select up to 50 communities to participate in the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) to develop and implement a coordinated community approach to preventing and ending youth homelessness. At least 16 of the selected communities will be rural.
This application process is for community selection and project selection. Concurrently with submission for community selection, applicants for YHDP community designation must submit a priority listing of project applications for HUD review.
Eligible applicants:
- State, county, city, township, and special district governments
- Nonprofit organizations
- Public and state-controlled institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal governments (federally recognized)
- Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized Tribal governments)
- Faith-based organizations
Each selected community will be eligible to apply for project funding.
Award ceiling: $15,000,000
Award floor: $500,000
Expected number of awards: 73
Project period: 24-30 months
Estimated total program funding:
$193,000,000
