Applicants must be Maine residents who have lived in Maine for a minimum of 1 year prior to matriculation into graduate school. Applicants must be admitted to a program of allopathic, osteopathic, veterinary medicine, or dentistry at an accredited institution.
- Up to $25,000 annually, or $100,000 total over a maximum 4-year period
- Up to $10,000 annually, or $40,000 total over a maximum 4-year period for students benefitting from the Doctors for Maine's Future Scholarship Program
No interest accrues while the recipient is in an eligible residency program. During repayment, the interest rate can be as low as 0% and is based on location and type of practice and/or population served.
