Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina Foundation funds projects that promote and support healthier South Carolinians and increase access to healthcare for the economically disadvantaged.

Funding priorities include

  • Access to care
  • Building a stronger healthcare workforce
  • Improving the quality and value of care
  • Investing in the health and well being of children and families
  • Research and special projects

Eligible applicants are:

  • Nonprofit organizations that have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status
  • Government agencies
  • Tax-exempt educational and research institutions

Amount of funding

There is no maximum award amount for grant requests. The proposed budget must justify the amount requested.

Application process

Submit an online letter of intent by the specified deadline. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact a program officer to discuss any proposed project prior to submitting a letter of intent.
