West Virginia Rural Health Association
The West Virginia Rural Health Awards program recognizes
the accomplishments of individuals and organizations in
the field of rural health.
Award categories include:
Outstanding Rural Health Student -
Recognizes a health professions student for a
significant student initiated and performed activity
within the rural health field. Activities may include
clinical, infrastructure development, research,
promotional or volunteer activities.
Outstanding Rural Health Provider -
Recognizes a direct service provider who has exhibited
outstanding leadership in the improvement of health
care services in rural West Virginia. Nominees can
include any healthcare provider from any discipline
including, but not limited to, physicians, physician
associates, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, social
workers, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, and
Excellence in Rural Health -
Recognizes an individual and organization who
demonstrate creative work of particular effectiveness
in applying knowledge or innovative organizational work
to the betterment of community health.
Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Honors individuals or organizations that
promote equitable access to healthcare resources by
individuals from minority backgrounds
Awards will be presented at the 2023 WV Annual Awards
Luncheon on October 20, 2023 to be held in Wheeling, WV.
Eligible awardees are individuals and organizations who
are deserving of recognition for their rural health
efforts in West Virginia.
