Purpose

The Oklahoma Physician Assistant Loan Repayment Program provides loan repayment assistance for primary care physician assistants who agree to serve at approved sites in rural and underserved areas of Oklahoma, with a special emphasis on Medicaid and Medicare recipients.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are primary care physician assistants licensed to practice in Oklahoma.

Participants are required to accept Sooner Care and Medicare patients. Family medicine, pediatric, and general internal medicine physician assistants are required to register as a Medicaid Medical Home.

Amount of funding

Physicians must agree to practice medicine at the contracted medical facility. The service obligation is year to year, with a maximum of 3 years.

Year 1: Up to $10,000
Year 2: Up to $20,000
Year 1: Up to $30,000

Exact award amounts are based on the total of educational loans to be repaid.
