Purpose

The Alzheimer's Disease Programs Initiative (ADPI) provides funding to support respite for caregivers of individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). The goal of this program is to provide relief to unpaid caregivers of individuals with probable ADRD that achieve the following outcomes:

  • Increased use of dementia-specific respite by family caregivers
  • Family caregiver self-reported ability to maintain their caregiving role while maintaining their own health
  • Increased quality of life of people with probable dementia

Applications should describe how they plan to reach target populations, including those in rural areas.
