Purpose

Montana AHEC MedStart is a health career exploration summer camp for high school students in Montana who are current sophomores and juniors. Scholarships are available for students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, low-income families, rural areas, minorities, or who will be first in their family to attend college.

The camp is a 5-day program that offers hands-on experience for students within healthcare fields. 2024 Camp locations and dates are:

  • University of Montana in Missoula, June 17-21, 2024
  • Montana Tech in Butte, June 23–27, 2024
  • University of Providence in Great Falls, July 7–11, 2024
  • Miles Community College in Miles City, July 14–18, 2024
  • Montana State University Billings, July 21–25, 2024
Eligibility

Eligible applicants are high school students in Montana who are current sophomores and juniors. Homeschooled and GED students are eligible. Students may be no older than 18. Students may apply for a second year of MedStart.
