The Kansas EMS Education Incentive Grant Program provides funding for licensed ambulance services in rural, frontier, and densely settled rural areas of Kansas to help with recruiting, training, and certifying ambulance EMS providers.

Funding priorities include:

1. Applications seeking grants to pay the cost of recruiting EMS providers and the cost of the initial courses of training for EMS providers
2. Applications seeking grants to pay the cost of continuing education for EMS providers
3. Applications seeking grants to pay the cost of education for EMS providers who are obtaining a post-secondary education degree

Students receiving grant funding for an EMR, EMT, or AEMT initial course of instruction must agree to work for the named service for a minimum of 20 hours per month for 12 consecutive months.

Students receiving grant funding for a paramedic initial course of instruction must agree to work for the named service for a minimum of 20 hours per month for 24 consecutive months.

EMS services located in frontier, rural, or densely settled rural areas of Kansas are eligible to apply.

Submit the funding request and the appropriate agreement forms no earlier than 30 days prior to the first day of class.

First half submissions will be accepted beginning July 1, 2025 and will be received until December 15, 2025. The first half monies will be used for classes that start between July 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025.

Second half submissions will be accepted beginning December 1, 2025 and will be received through June 15, 2026. The second half monies will be used for classes that start between January 1, 2026 and June 30, 2026.
