Purpose

USDA Rural Utilities Service works with the National Rural Water Association to provide consultants for rural water systems that need assistance with meeting statutory and regulatory requirements.

Technical assistance topics include:

  • Day-to-day operational issues
  • Board training
  • Management/finance
  • Operation/maintenance
  • Water treatment
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Facility security
  • Loan application and reporting
  • Disaster/emergency assistance

Water systems in eligible rural areas may request assistance.

Technical assistance is provided on an as-needed basis at no cost to rural water systems.
