Purpose

The Older Adults Home Modification Grant Program will provide funding to make home modifications and limited repairs to meet the needs of low-income elderly homeowners. The overall program goal is enabling elderly persons to remain in their homes by reducing fall risk, improving general safety, increasing accessibility, and improving functional abilities in the home.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include city, county, state, and special district governments and nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status (other than institutions of higher education).

Award ceiling: $1,250,000 for the entire project period
Award floor: $500,000 for the entire project period

At least half of the funding is set aside for communities with substantial rural populations.
