Purpose

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services will provide grants to support services for people with an opioid use disorder, stimulant use disorder, and other co-occurring substance use disorders in Wisconsin.

Applicants should focus on the following activities:

  • Demonstrate full integration of agonist and partial agonist treatments for opioid use disorder, such as buprenorphine and methadone
  • Target critical gaps in current service systems across diverse racial, ethnic, geographic, and other demographic groups
  • Provide community education/public awareness events focused on the efficacy of medications for opioid use disorder and that promote resources for individuals with stimulant use disorder
  • Provide education on and distribution of naloxone and fentanyl test strips
  • Offer recovery support services, such as peer support, recovery coaching, and/or recovery housing to individuals
Eligibility

All tribal nations and counties in Wisconsin that did not receive opioid and stimulant unmet treatment needs funding in the 2022-2023 State Opioid Response contract year are eligible to apply.

Priority consideration will be given to tribal nations and counties identified as high-need areas. A list of Wisconsin counties ranked in order of highest need is available in the application instructions.
