The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Health Professional Scholarship Program (HPSP) Vet Center (Readjustment Counseling Service) Scholarship provides scholarships for specific behavioral/mental health professional students. Recipients agree to a 6-year service obligation at a Vet Center Readjustment Counseling Service site.
Applicants from rural, tribal, and other underserved communities are encouraged.
Applicants must be currently enrolled or be accepted for full-time enrollment in an accredited academic program that will qualify for employment in one of the professional fields associated with the scholarship program.
Eligible occupations include:
- Social worker (MSW)
- Psychologist (PhD)
- Licensed professional mental health counselor (LPMHC)
- Marriage and family therapist (MFT)
Scholarship recipients will receive:
- 100% of tuition and required fees
- $1,328 per month stipend
- A stipend to help cover books and supplies
