Purpose

Funding for a single entity to serve as a Center of Excellence (CoE) to advance behavioral health equity for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AIAN) in both reservations and urban communities.

The recipient is expected to:

  1. Develop and disseminate culturally-informed, evidence-based behavioral health information
  2. Provide technical assistance and training on issues related to addressing behavioral health disparities in AIAN communities

  • Political subdivisions of states
  • Tribes
  • Tribal organizations
  • Health facilities
  • Programs operated by or in accordance with a contract with the Indian Health Service
  • Other public or private nonprofit entities
