Housing Assistance Council OneRural Capacity Building Program
The Housing Assistance Council OneRural Program will provide individualized technical assistance, training, and access to resources designed to build the capacity of housing/community development organizations working in rural communities. Preference will be given to organizations that demonstrate the greatest need and readiness for capacity-building assistance.
Assistance is designed to help participants:
- Build strong healthy organizations
- Design activities to meet community needs
- Navigate programmatic regulations
- Implement best practices in program management
Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations, Tribal Designated Housing Entities (TDHEs), and federally recognized Native American tribes.
Assistance is only available for services provided in rural, non-urbanized areas. Use the HUD Rural Capacity Building map to verify service area eligibility.
Assistance is provided at no cost.

March 31, 2026 is the priority application deadline. If space remains after the priority review, additional applications will be considered through April 15.
