Purpose

The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) offers honorary awards that recognize noteworthy transportation projects and practices in rural, small metropolitan, and larger areas that help meet regional needs.

Program areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Bicycle and pedestrian planning
  • Environmental linkages
  • Equity
  • Project implementation
  • Public involvement
  • Resilience
  • Safety
  • Transit

Applications should address one or more of the issues:

  • Uniqueness/level of innovation compared to current state of the practice
  • Regional impact
  • Ability to be replicated
  • Long-term viability of the program and its impact
  • Innovative partnerships and collaborations
  • Creative funding
Eligibility

Eligible applicants are NADO members.

Awards are honorary. Winners are recognized at a reception during the National Regional Transportation Conference.
