Purpose

The Indiana Recovery Housing Program provides funding for communities in Indiana to provide stable, transitional housing for individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder.

Eligible activities include:

  • Public facilities and improvements
    • Construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation or installation of public facilities and improvements for the purpose of providing stable, temporary housing for individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder
  • Acquisition and disposition of real property
    • Surveying and appraisal costs
    • Legal costs related to the acquisition
    • Actual purchase costs of land or easement
  • Administration
    • Reasonable, eligible, and approved costs associated with the administration of the proposed project
  • Environmental review
    • Costs related to obtaining the necessary review of the proposed project
Eligibility

Applicants must be an entitlement city, non-entitlement city, county or incorporated town in Indiana. The lead applicant may contract with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to carry out project activities.

Priority areas are in rural and non-urban communities of the state.

Submit round 1 proposals by September 15, 2023. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal, with a deadline of October 20, 2023.
