Texas Family Practice Residency Grant Program
The Texas Higher Education Board offers rural and public health rotation opportunities for residents in Texas to increase the number of physicians selecting family medicine as their specialty and to improve access to primary care in rural and underserved communities across Texas.
An applicant must be a medical school, licensed hospital, or nonprofit corporation operating in Texas. Residency programs must be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as a family practice residency program and must have been operational for three or more academic years immediately preceding the application for funds.
Rural rotations
- $2,500 per rotation
 - 40 rural rotation slots are available.
 
Public health rotations
- $2,000 per rotation
 - 3 rural rotation slots are available.
