Purpose

The South Carolina Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare hosts a 9-week summer fellowship program for students who are interested in working to improve health outcomes in the state. The program will take place June 1 - July 31, 2026.

Fellows will assist Center staff with their ongoing programs and research projects, network with rural and primary healthcare professionals, visit rural sites, and complete service projects. Fellows should expect to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are rising sophomores and juniors from any discipline. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate interest in learning about rural health.
