Purpose

Alaska Children's Trust will provide grants to organizations in Alaska for projects that engage Alaska Native youth in cultural activities, with the goal of improving the mental wellbeing and strengthening protective factors for participating youth. Examples of cultural activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Engage youth in subsistence activities
  • Teach traditional arts and crafts
  • Promote Native language learning
  • Expose youth to Native history, spiritual beliefs, and cultural values
Eligibility

Applications will be accepted from entities in Alaska that are:

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
  • Local and state government agencies
  • Tribes
  • Schools
  • Regional educational attendance areas
