Texas Health and Human Services Commission is offering grants to support rural hospitals, rural hospital authorities (RHA), and rural hospital districts (RHD) in Texas to provide access to healthcare, improve quality of care, strengthen financial stability, and ensure initiatives are sustainable.
Funds awarded under the program must be used for costs and activities that foster innovation by implementing initiatives that provide access to healthcare, improve quality of care, and strengthen financial stability. Funds may be used for renovating, upgrading, or remodeling an existing structure that is currently owned by the rural hospital, RHD, or RHA. All interior and exterior finishes, procurement of materials and equipment, and all construction activities must be completed and achieve operational status no later the end of the project period.
Applicants must be certified as a rural hospital, rural hospital district, or rural hospital authority in Texas.

Award floor: $2,000,000
Project period: August 1, 2026 - October
6, 2028
