Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama offers scholarships for health professions students in the state. The scholarships serve to improve access to quality, affordable healthcare for all people in Alabama, particularly in rural areas.
The scholarship program helps address healthcare needs in the areas of:
- Primary care
- Behavioral/mental health
- Maternal health
- Nursing
- Family medicine obstetrics
- Certified nurse midwifery
- Dentistry
Some of the scholarships require a service commitment in a rural or other approved area of the state.
