Purpose

The Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment (AHW) is offering grants for community-driven efforts carried out by eligible community Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) academic partnerships to implement innovative projects to advance health in Wisconsin. Areas of focus include:

  • Public and community health: Supports implementation and evaluation of health improvement interventions to address community-identified and community-prioritized health needs, inform policy and practice, improve health outcomes, and reduce disparities in the long-term
  • Health workforce education and development: Supports development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and resources to better recruit, retain, and advance community-based health workforces that are responsive to Wisconsin's health needs
Eligibility

All applications must be submitted by collaborative teams of community and MCW academic partners committed to carrying out the proposed project together. Teams may consist of:

  • Primary community partner organization: Wisconsin-based 501(c)3, 501(c)6, or Wisconsin government-based entity. Required
  • MCW Academic Partner: A full-time or full professional effort MCW faculty member with the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, and is required to contribute a minimum of 5% FTE to the project for the full award period. Required
  • Collaborator: MCW faculty, staff, or students as well as experts outside of MCW, including additional community partner organizations and contacts. Optional

Submit the online letter of intent by October 27, 2025. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal, with a deadline of February 23, 2026.
