Massachusetts Business Builds Capital Grant Program

The Massachusetts Office of Business Development (MOBD) offers capital funding to support business expansion and private investment in Massachusetts. The program supports capital projects that enable businesses to expand operations, relocate to, or create jobs in Massachusetts. Healthcare providers and health-related businesses are eligible.
The program is designed to:
- Support business expansion and relocation within Massachusetts
- Encourage job creation in Gateway Cities, rural towns, and underutilized spaces
- Complement existing Massachusetts programs
Eligible uses of funding include:
- Construction, buildout, and fit-out
- Equipment purchases aligned with project sustainability goals
- Site preparation and infrastructure, such as water, sewer, power, and HVAC
Eligible applicants are businesses that are seeking to expand or improve their operations within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Additional eligibility requirements:
- Project is located in Massachusetts
- The project consists of capital investments in a facility that enables the business to relocate from one location to another in Massachusetts, relocate from out of state to Massachusetts, expands an existing facility, or to establish a new facility
- The project is demonstrated to be economically feasible for the business
Expected award range: $1,000,000 -
$2,500,000
Project period: 3 years
Awardees are required to match grant funds dollar-for-dollar. Matching funds may not be other state grants or in-kind contributions.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and submissions are reviewed quarterly.
