2026 Risk Reduction Learning Collaborative: Tribally Led Health Programs & Urban Indian Organizations

Purpose

This is a collaborative learning opportunity for tribally-led health programs and urban Indian organizations to enhance their capacity to reduce Alzheimer's disease and dementia in their communities. Activities will focus on holding local planning meetings and developing a community action plan to address dementia risk and brain health.

The collaborative will be held June 23-24, 2026 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Participants will also receive monthly and individual technical assistance calls and peer learning opportunities through September 2026.

Learning objectives include:

  • Build on expertise and cultural strengths to enhance capacity and confidence in promoting dementia risk reduction
  • Share knowledge about the connection between Indigenous determinants of health and brain health
  • Support community leaders in applying the Community Convening framework to strengthen local initiatives and gatherings
Eligibility

Tribally-led health programs and urban Indian organizations are eligible to apply.

Participants must be able to attend the in-person program and be committed to hosting their own community action planning meeting within 6-9 months following the learning collaborative.

Participants will receive:

  • Reimbursement for costs associated with travel, lodging, and meals during travel and the in-person meeting
  • Virtual monthly technical assistance calls through September 2026
  • Individual technical assistance will be offered as needed, up to the amount of 5 hours per participant
  • Peer learning opportunities including learning from other organizations that have hosted Community Convenings
