Provides funding for built environment projects to advance community health and resilience, especially for low resource, economically distressed, and at-risk communities in Tennessee.
Eligible projects include but are not limited to:
- Playgrounds
- Walking tracks
- Outdoor fitness stations
- Greenways
- Trails
- Community facilities
- Other publicly accessible spaces designed to promote physical activity, access to healthy food, and social interaction
Proposals are accepted for projects at varying stages of development, including convening, assessment, planning, infrastructure design, and construction.
Eligible applicants include Tennessee local and state government entities, Tribes, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
Funding amounts for Phase A projects:
- $2,000 for convening projects
- $20,000 for assessment projects
- $50,000 for planning projects
Grants of up to $80,000 are available for Phase B infrastructure design and construction projects
Project period: 24 months
Estimated number of awards: 10-15

$860,000

Submit an online letter of intent by March 13, 2026. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal with a deadline of May 22, 2026.
