Nebraska Graduate Trainee Support Program
The Graduate Trainee Support Program provides financial assistance to master's level students in certain behavioral health programs in Nebraska to support the completion of an advanced practicum or internship experience in a Mental Health Professional Shortage Area (MHPSA) serving rural, public sector, or justice-involved communities.
To be eligible, students must have confirmed practicum or internship experiences, be in good academic standing, and intend to practice in Nebraska after graduation.

Students can receive up to $20,000 over the length of their experience, depending on the number of placement hours completed.
Supervisors of participating students are eligible to receive up to $5,000 per student upon successful completion of the program.
An additional $5,000 bonus is available for students who complete their experience at a justice-involved facility.

Applications are accepted at 3 times during the year, with the following application periods:
- March 10 – April 10: For practicum or internship experiences beginning in the summer
- June 10 – July 10: For experiences beginning in the fall
- October 10 – November 10: For experiences beginning in the Spring
