Caring for Kansas: Kansas Rural Health Providers Scholarship Program

The Caring for Kansas program offers scholarship funding to support non-physician rural health professionals across Kansas interested in virtual and in-person continuing education opportunities offered through Kansas Office of Continuing Education and Area Health Education Center (AHEC/OCE).
Scholarships will be awarded at a first come, first serve basis to those who meet the eligibility requirements and are intended to reduce financial barriers to professional development. Approved expenses are reimbursed following the successful completion of a continuing education opportunity.
Eligibility requirements:
- Work as a non-DO/MD health professional including but not limited to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, social workers, pharmacists, therapists, dietitians, and laboratory technicians
- Work primarily in 1 of the 99 counties not classified as urban (Excluded counties: Johnson, Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Shawnee, Douglas, and Sedgwick)
Reimbursement of approved expenses at the completion of the continuing education course:
- Registration and credits are covered for virtual experiences
- Registration, credits, hotel, mileage, and per diem are covered for in-person experiences that take place in Kansas
Submit an online application at least 2 weeks prior to the selected continuing education event.
