Economic Advancement Grants for Local Empowerment (EAGLE) will support socioeconomic and cultural success for Native communities through business creation in regenerative agriculture, artificial intelligence, tribal energy sovereignty, and human capital development.

Program goals:

• Support Native capacity, health, employability, and resourcefulness
• Foster sustainable economic growth through job creation, infrastructure, and wealth building
• Accelerate economic development and optimize governance

Health-related project areas:

• Seventh-Generation Greenhouses
  • Increase the quantity and quality of food
  • Decrease the cost of high-quality foods
  • Promote healthy diets and good nutritional habits
• Microgrids
  • Increase energy reliability while reducing costs
  • Boost tribal and Native community resilience
  • Promote economic growth
  • Provide continuity of energy services in the event of a major disaster or disruption
• Welders to Elders
  • Promote job growth
  • Promote personal and professional growth
  • Disrupt negative cycles linked to high unemployment
  • Build community resilience
• Tradition in Action - Native Elder Program
  • Boost academic and cultural education
  • Increase intergenerational knowledge transfer and cultural rootedness
  • Increase productivity and community investment among community members
  • Establish additional community-centered activities for Native elders
  • Establish long-horizon leadership pipelines
• Indigenous Designs to Empower and Advance Self- determination
  • Improving health and well-being
  • Improving foster care systems and support, including kinship care
  • Creating new businesses or otherwise promoting economic growth
  • Developing a tribal code or court system for economic development
  • Developing a community development financial institution, including training and administrative expenses
  • Developing a master plan for socioeconomic development and infrastructure

• Federally recognized tribes
• Incorporated non-federally recognized tribes
• Incorporated state-recognized tribes
• Consortia of tribes
• Incorporated, nonprofit multipurpose, community-based Indian organizations
• Urban Indian centers
• Native community development financial institutions
• Alaska Native villages
• Nonprofit Native organizations in Alaska with village-specific projects
• Incorporated nonprofit Alaska Native multipurpose, community-based organizations
• Nonprofit Alaska Native Regional Corporations/Associations in Alaska with village- specific projects
• Nonprofit Alaska Native community entities or tribal governing bodies
• Public and nonprofit private agencies serving Native Hawaiians
• National or regional incorporated nonprofit Native American organizations with Native American community-specific objectives
• Public and nonprofit private agencies serving Native peoples from Guam, American Samoa, or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands
• Tribal Colleges and Universities, and colleges and universities located in Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands that serve Native American Pacific Islanders

• Award ceiling: $800,000
• Award floor: $350,000
• Project period: 3 years
• Estimated number of awards: 5

Microgrids:

• Award ceiling: $1,000,000
• Award floor: $500,000
• Project period: 3 years
• Estimated number of awards: 4

Welders to Elders:

• Award ceiling: $500,000
• Award floor: $300,000
