Western North Carolina Grants Help Desk
828.771.6710
The Grants Help Desk offers free grant writing advice and support for eligible nonprofits and municipalities in Western North Carolina. The goal of the program is to make grant applications more competitive and improve the chance of securing funding outside of Dogwood Health Trust. Support includes:
- Assessing the eligibility/competitiveness of a particular project for a specific grant opportunity
- Answering questions that arise during the grant development process related to narrative, budget, forms, attachments, and submission
- Navigating the complexities of state, federal, and private foundation grant applications
- Guidance on grant management and post-award compliance
Support does not include drafting full narratives, creation of a budget, creation of a logic model or work plan, making recommendations on the entirety of a proposal, or comprehensive searching for funders. This service may not be used for assistance with Dogwood Health Trust grants.
Eligible participants include nonprofit organizations or municipal governments that:
- Received funding from Dogwood Health Trust since 2023 in either the Qualla Boundary region and/or in 1 of 18 eligible counties: Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey.
- Have not received funding from Dogwood Health Trust but is seeking funding for hurricane relief and recovery efforts and located in 1 of 12 counties most impacted by Hurricane Helene: Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, and Yancey.
- Have not received support within the last 30 days
This is a free opportunity.
