Purpose

The Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA) is offering pilot funding to support Pennsylvania communities in becoming accessible, inclusive places for older adults, people with dementia, and neighbors of all ages.

Projects should align with at least one of the Aging Our Way, PA priority areas:

  • Unlocking access
  • Aging in community
  • Gateways to independence
  • Caregiver supports
  • Education and navigation

Applicants should review the Aging Our Way, PA: A Plan for Lifelong Independence that includes several mentions of rural in the priorities, and are encouraged to attend the applicant information session before applying.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants:

  • Pennsylvania-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
  • County and municipal governments
  • Coalitions with a fiscal sponsor

Amount of funding

Organizations may request fixed grant amounts of $10,000, $25,000, or $50,000.
