The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) and technical assistance partners offer planning assistance, workshops, technical training, and fundraising assistance to build transportation organization capacity and to support existing programs and planned projects in rural and tribal communities.
Past assistance has included:
- Conducting stakeholder outreach
- Exploring new partnerships and identifying regional assets
- Identifying noteworthy practices related to mobility, community/economic development, and rural wealth creation
- Developing strategies for addressing transportation and economic development challenges estimating transportation demand, mobility service options, or costs
- Writing request for proposal (RFP) templates
- Analyzing data
- Conducting walk audits
- Connecting with peer communities that are addressing similar mobility challenges
- Training for agency staff, board members, and stakeholders
- Meeting other mobility and economic development needs
Eligible technical assistance recipients include Tribes, regional development organizations, communities, and transit agencies in communities with a population under 50,000.
