This opportunity offers scholarships for eligible associate degrees, certificates, and apprenticeships at eligible community colleges, technical colleges, and approved apprenticeship sponsors in Washington. There are many approved programs related to health and healthcare, such as dental assistant, occupational therapy assistant, and practical nurse.

Students from rural communities may receive supplemental scholarships through the Rural Jobs Initiative (RJI).

Eligible applicants for the Career and Technical Scholarship are Washington residents with financial need who are pursuing an approved education plan.

To be eligible for the Rural Jobs Initiative, an applicant must be a resident of a rural county and be enrolled in a community and technical college that is located in a rural county.

Up to $1,500 per quarter for the Career and Technical Scholarship

Selected Rural Jobs Initiative recipients will receive up to $3,500 in the first quarter, up to $2,500 in the second quarter, and up to $2,000 per quarter until the program is completed.

1. Confirm eligibility
2. Complete the application
3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA)
4. If eligible, apply for federal education tax credits

There is no separate application for RJI. All Career and Technical Scholarship applicants are automatically reviewed and considered for RJI.
