Purpose

The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is offering a community of practice that will bring representatives from local health departments that support rural communities and areas together to learn, share resources, and support each other in their overdose prevention and response efforts.

There will be 10 community of practice meetings the second week of each month for a total estimated time commitment of 10 hours between October 2026 and July 2027.

Eligibility

City, county, multi-county, and tribal health department staff from rural communities who are currently engaged in local overdose prevention and response activities are eligible to apply. NACCHO is seeking a group of participants who represent a wide range of geographic distribution and with varying levels of experience. Multiple staff from a single local health department are welcome to participate.
