Purpose

The Rural Health Care Access Program (RHCAP) provides funds to help rural Idaho communities improve access to primary medical and dental healthcare.

Funding may be used for:

  • Community development projects
  • Telehealth projects
  • Recruitment and retention, such as physician loan repayment, recruitment incentives, and reimbursement for relocation expenses
Eligibility

Applicants must be nonprofit organizations registered with the Idaho secretary of state or government organizations.

Projects must serve an area designated as a Primary Care Health Professional Shortage Area, Medically Underserved Area, or Dental Health Professional Shortage Area in the state of Idaho.
