The Minnesota Rural Pharmacist Loan Forgiveness Program offers forgivable loans to pharmacy students, residents, and practicing professionals who agree to practice in a designated rural area of Minnesota.

A designated rural area is defined as a city or township that is outside the 7-county Minneapolis/ St. Paul metropolitan area, excluding the cities of Duluth, Mankato, Moorhead, Rochester, and St. Cloud.

Participants are eligible for up to 4 years of funding and must agree to work for at least 30 hours per week for at least 45 weeks per year, and a minimum of 3 years.


Eligible applicants include students and residents in pharmacy programs and licensed pharmacists.

Up to $20,000 per year with a maximum of $80,000.
