Grants for the development of Indian and Alaska Native communities, including housing, public service facilities, healthcare entities, and economic development projects.

Veterans Housing Rehabilitation and Modification Pilot Program Inactive
Grants to rehabilitate and modify the primary residence of veterans who are low-income and living with disabilities, with a focus on helping them regain and/or maintain their independence to alleviate critical health, life, and safety issues. Priority is placed on increasing equity and improving customer experience across all HUD programs, which includes people who live in rural areas and those otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty or inequality.

Family Self-Sufficiency Program Inactive
Funding for public housing agencies and housing choice voucher programs to hire family self-sufficiency coordinators that will work with low-income people to increase their earned income and financial literacy, reduce or eliminate the need for welfare assistance, and make progress toward economic independence and self-sufficiency. Applications from rural communities are encouraged.

Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program Community Selection Inactive
As part of the Continuum of Care program, HUD will select up to 25 communities to participate in the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program to develop and execute a coordinated community approach to preventing and ending youth homelessness. At least 8 of the selected communities will be rural. Applicants must be a collaborative registered through the most recent Continuum of Care Program.

HUD Community Compass Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Inactive
Funding for technical assistance and capacity building activities to help organizations implement HUD programs successfully and sustainably, as well as provide effective administrative and managerial oversight of HUD funding. This includes building the capacity of rural organizations that provide services in the areas of housing, housing counseling, economic empowerment, educational advancement, health, wellness, and family self-sufficiency.

Continuum of Care Supplemental to Address Unsheltered and Rural Homelessness Inactive
Funding for registered Continuum of Care communities to implement coordinated approaches to reduce the prevalence of unsheltered homelessness; and improve services engagement, health outcomes, and housing stability among highly vulnerable unsheltered individuals and families. This opportunity includes funds set aside specifically to partner with organizations to address homelessness in rural communities.

Tribal HUD-VA Supportive Housing Program Expansion Inactive
Grants for tribes and tribally designated housing entities to provide rental assistance for Native American veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, living on or near a reservation or other Indian areas. The program combines rental assistance from HUD with case management, clinical, and supportive services provided by VA.

Eviction Protection Grant Program Inactive
Grant to legal service providers to provide free legal assistance low-income tenants at risk of or subject to eviction, especially among populations disproportionately affected by eviction and in rural areas or other communities with high rates of eviction.

Healthy Homes Production Grant Program for Tribal Housing Inactive
Funding set aside for tribes to address multiple childhood diseases and injuries in the home by identifying and remediating housing-related environmental health and safety hazards in privately owned, low-income rental, and/or owner occupied housing, especially in units and/or buildings where families with children, the elderly, or persons with disabilities live.

Specialized Housing and Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Inactive
Grants to implement and provide housing and trauma-informed, victim-centered services for victims of human trafficking, including victims in tribal and rural communities.
