May 3, 2023 - Announces the creation of the Heartland Regional Foods Business Center with a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture. This center will be 1 of 12 established nationally and will serve Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Iowa. The project will be led by Rural Prosperity Nebraska along with 33 partners from extension offices, nonprofit organizations, and tribal and indigenous groups. The Center will work to strengthen local and regional food supply chains for rural and underinvested communities through collaboration and economic development.

Apr 10, 2023 - The Helmsley Charitable Trust is equipping first responders in communities across rural states in the Midwest and West with automated external defibrillators (AEDs), to enhance rural healthcare. The trust has provided over $60 million in funding for more than 25,000 AEDs to local law enforcement agencies in Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Nevada.
