Focuses on research, intervention, education, and outreach
activities to meet the needs of farmers, including
non-traditional farmers, their family members, and workers.
A NIOSH Agricultural Safety and Health Center located at
the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of
Community Action of Nebraska, Inc.
Works on behalf of the 9 Community Action Agencies
in Nebraska. Serves as a bridge between the agencies and
state, federal, and private organizations. Coordinates
community assessments, and provides technical assistance
Great Plains Telehealth Resource and Assistance Center
One of the telehealth resource centers funded by the
federal Office for the Advancement of Telehealth. Assists
healthcare organizations, networks, and providers in the
implementation of cost-effective telehealth programs to
serve rural and medically underserved areas and
populations. Includes North Dakota, South Dakota,
Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.
Health Center Association of Nebraska
Serves as the Primary Care Association for Nebraska.
Promotes healthcare delivery to medically underserved, low
income, and uninsured populations. Consists of Federally
Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) that provide mental
health, dental, and medical healthcare services.
Nebraska Area Health Education Centers
Consists of 5 regional Area Health Education Centers
(AHECs) in the Central, Northern, Panhandle, Omaha, and
Southeast parts of the state. Works to recruit and retain
healthcare provides. Focuses on health career promotion,
education, health professions development, continuing
education, and community needs.
Nebraska Association of Local Health Directors
Consists of directors of health departments in Nebraska.
Promotes collaboration and opportunities amongst public
health agencies. Oversees the Rural Veterans Coordination
Pilot Project to ensure Veterans returning to their homes
in rural Nebraska can access the support needed to
successfully reintegrate into their families and
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services
Provides services to citizens of Nebraska. Oversees
numerous health, safety, and wellness and prevention
programs including dental health, mental health, school
health, emergency medical services (EMS) and preparedness,
substance abuse, and the Nebraska State Office of Rural
Nebraska Emergency Medical Services
Works to strengthen emergency healthcare throughout
Nebraska. Oversees the licensure of emergency medical
services (EMS) personnel, offers education, training
programs, and oversees the statewide trauma system.
Nebraska Hospital Association
Represents Nebraska's hospitals and health systems.
Provides information on Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs),
emergency preparedness, education and training, quality and
patient safety, and workforce resources. Maintains a Rural
Quality Improvement Steering Committee that offers
recommendations, reports, and education for the model quality
improvement plan for Nebraska hospitals.
Nebraska Office of Rural Health
Works to assure quality healthcare services to those living
in rural Nebraska. Promotes programs and activities
including student loan repayment programs, recruitment and
retention, healthcare facilities serving underserved areas,
and State 30 J1 Visa Waiver. Serves as the Nebraska Office
of Primary Care.
Nebraska Rural Health Association
Offers leadership on rural health issues through advocacy,
communication, and education. Provides a forum to address
rural health concerns and develop and promote effective
solutions at the local and state level. Shares information
on Nebraska rural health clinics.
Nebraska Rural Health Education Network
Addresses the shortage of health professionals in rural
Nebraska. Partners with rural communities, primary health
care providers, and Nebraska's Area Health Education
Centers (AHECs). Oversees the Rural Health Opportunities
Program (RHOP), which encourages rural residents to pursue
a career in the healthcare fields.
North Central Regional Center for Rural Development
One of four regional rural development centers in the U.S.
that works with extension professionals, researchers, and
partners to enhance rural development outcomes. Serves a 12-state area in the North Central region which includes North
Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa,
Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.
