The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy

The Rural Health Information Hub is supported by funding from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP). Through this cooperative agreement, FORHP works collaboratively with the RHIhub team to ensure the program meets the information needs of rural healthcare facilities and other audiences.

The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) promotes better healthcare service in rural America. Established in 1987, FORHP is located in the Health Resources and Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Congress charged FORHP with informing and advising HHS on matters affecting rural hospitals and healthcare, coordinating activities within the Department that relate to rural healthcare, and maintaining a national information clearinghouse.

FORHP works with government at the federal, state, and local levels, and with the private sector — associations, foundations, providers, and community leaders — to seek solutions to rural healthcare problems.
