Purpose

The State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) awards grants to states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Territories to assist them in operating their own state educational loan repayment programs for primary care providers working in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) within their state.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • State governments, including the District of Columbia and U.S. territories
  • Native American Tribal governments
  • Native American Tribal organizations

Total funding available: $20,000,000
Project period: 3 years
Number of awards: 50
