Purpose
This is a 9-month residency preparatory program for international medical graduates in Minnesota. Training consists of inpatient, outpatient, community, and classroom components designed to optimally prepare participants to succeed in residency programs.
Eligibility
The following requirements must be met in order to participate in the program:
- Currently residing in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Did not enter the United States on a J1 or similar nonimmigrant visa following acceptance into a U.S. medical residency or fellowship program
- MD degree or international equivalent
- At least 2 years of documented Minnesota residency by May 20, 2024
- ECFMG Certification
- Passing score on USMLE Steps 1 and 2 within 3 attempts
- Demonstrated typing proficiency
- Personal health insurance coverage throughout the program period
