Purpose

The Bureau of Health Workforce is offering funding to support innovative educational and clinical training opportunities, thus increasing the nursing workforce and addressing the nursing shortage in rural and medically vulnerable communities.

Program objectives:

  1. Expand and/or enhance the workforce through the development of health professions pathways and competency-based curriculum
  2. Expand community and clinical training partnerships in non- traditional community-based settings, particularly rural and medically vulnerable areas
  3. Provide faculty and preceptor training and support
  4. Expand experiential learning opportunities with the purchase and use of simulation-based technology to enhance academic-practice

Eligibility

Eligible applicants:

  • Accredited schools of nursing
  • Healthcare facilities, including Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and nurse-managed health clinics
  • Partnerships between schools and facilities

Award ceiling: $750,000 per year
