Lack of Healthy Food Options on Children's Menus of Restaurants in the Health-Disparate Dan River Region of Virginia and North Carolina, 2013
Community-based participatory research study describing the quality of food on children's menus in 137 restaurants located in three predominantly rural counties in Virginia and North Carolina, areas with high rates of diabetes and obesity among adults. Looked at healthy eating options for rural compared to urban locations and for areas that are predominantly Black, White, and mixed race.

Telemedicine for Children with Developmental Disabilities: A More Effective Clinical Process than Office-Based Care
Examines the Tele-Health-Kids, a school-based program using asynchronous telemedicine to connect children with developmental disabilities with their primary care physician for the treatment of minor illnesses in rural Ohio. Adherence and Delivery: Implementation Quality and Program Outcomes for the 7th Grade Keepin' It Real Program
A study to determine how the implementation quality (IQ) of a drug and alcohol prevention program specific for rural middle school adolescents can affect desired results. Seventh grade students from 25 schools in rural Pennsylvania and Ohio participated in the keepin' it REAL prevention program. Variables used to evaluate the program included adherence to the curriculum, teacher and student engagement, and a rating of teacher delivery quality.
