CAPABLE (Community Aging in Place—Advancing Better Living for Elders)
Updated/reviewed July 2026
- Need: To help older adults age in place.
- Intervention: For four to five months, CAPABLE participants receive home visits from a registered nurse, occupational therapist, and home repair services.
- Results: There are currently 35 CAPABLE sites across the country, 13 of which are located in rural communities.
Connecticut Well Water Testing Program
Added July 2026
- Need: More frequent water testing among well owners in rural Connecticut.
- Intervention: Initiatives through the Connecticut Institute of Water Resources that offer reduced-cost testing and educational workshops.
- Results: More than 1,000 homes have received testing, with roughly 50% having at least one exceedance over Connecticut health standards.
