Provides funding to small rural hospitals, through their State Office of Rural Health, to help them do any or all of the following: purchase equipment or training to attain value-based payment and care goals; join Medicare Shared Savings Program or become an Accountable Care Organization; and purchase health information technology, equipment, or training.

Geriatrics Academic Career Award Program Inactive
Funding to support the career development of junior faculty in geriatrics as academic geriatricians or academic geriatrics specialists. The overall goals of the program are to develop the necessary skills to lead healthcare transformation in a variety of settings, including rural and/or medically underserved settings, to be age-friendly, and to provide training in clinical geriatrics, including the training of interprofessional teams of healthcare professionals to provide healthcare for older adults.

Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) Technical Assistance Center Inactive
Funding for a single entity to provide technical assistance for rural hospitals. The program purpose is to ensure that rural hospitals and the communities they serve have the information and resources needed to make informed decisions as to whether the Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) model of care is best for their communities, and if so, facilitate a successful implementation of REH requirements for those hospitals converting to this new provider type.

Area Health Education Centers Inactive
Grants to develop and enhance education and training networks within communities, academic institutions, and community-based organizations. The networks support the Bureau of Health Workforce's strategic priorities to increase diversity among health professionals, broaden the distribution of the health workforce, enhance healthcare quality, and improve healthcare delivery to rural and underserved areas and populations.

Information Services to Rural Hospital Flexibility Grantees Program Cooperative Agreement (Technical Assistance Center) Inactive
Funding to a single agency to provide information and technical assistance to beneficiaries of Federal Office of Rural Health Policy initiatives, such as award recipients, Critical Access Hospitals, small rural hospitals, and rural communities.

Grants to strengthen the primary care workforce by supporting the academic career development of faculty who teach primary care dentistry or focus their teaching on the integration of oral health in family medicine, general internal medicine, or general pediatrics. Awards funding to plan, develop, and operate predoctoral training programs in dentistry and dental hygiene for dental and dental hygiene students that address enhancing pediatric training to support improved access to oral healthcare for vulnerable, underserved, or rural communities.
