Central States Center for Agricultural Safety and Health
Focuses on research, intervention, education, and outreach
activities to meet the needs of farmers, including
non-traditional farmers, their family members, and workers.
A NIOSH Agricultural Safety and Health Center located at
the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of
Collaborative Research Center for American Indian Health
Focuses on building tribal research infrastructure and transdisciplinary research teams in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota. Brings together tribal communities and health researchers from multiple disciplines to conduct research that addresses significant health disparities experienced by American Indians in the region.
Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas
Serves as the primary care association for North Dakota and
South Dakota. Supports Community Health Centers (CHCs).
Provides a variety of resources on multiple topics to
improve the delivery of healthcare services, topics in
clinical, human resources, finances, outreach, and
Great Plains Telehealth Resource and Assistance Center
One of the telehealth resource centers funded by the
federal Office for the Advancement of Telehealth. Assists
healthcare organizations, networks, and providers in the
implementation of cost-effective telehealth programs to
serve rural and medically underserved areas and
populations. Includes North Dakota, South Dakota,
Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.
High Plains Intermountain Center for Agricultural Health and Safety
Focuses on research, education, prevention, and
intervention programs to improve the health and safety of
individuals working in agriculture, forestry and fishing in
the Great Plains and Rocky Mountain regions of Colorado,
Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. A
NIOSH Agricultural Safety and Health Center located at
Colorado State University.
Mountain Plains Mental Health Technology Transfer Center
(Mountain Plains MHTTC)
Supports the dissemination of evidence-based practices for mental health prevention, treatment, and recovery for Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming and focuses on rural health issues. Network is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Native Governance Center
Assists tribal nations in strengthening their governance
systems and ability to exercise their sovereignty. Serves
23 Native nations in North Dakota, South Dakota, and
North Central Regional Center for Rural Development
One of four regional rural development centers in the U.S.
that works with extension professionals, researchers, and
partners to enhance rural development outcomes. Serves a 12-state area in the North Central region which includes North
Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa,
Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.
North Dakota Department of Health
Serves as the Primary Care Office for the state of North
Dakota. Oversees Rural Health Clinics (RHCs), home health
agencies, hospice programs, hospitals, skilled nursing
homes, and other programs that support rural healthcare.
North Dakota EMS Association
Works to support and strengthen emergency medical services
(EMS) in North Dakota. Oversees the Rural EMS Assistance
Grant program. Provides advocacy and funds for training,
equipment, and staffing for North Dakota ambulance
North Dakota Health Information Technology
(ND HEALTH IT)
Facilitates the adoption and use of health information
technology (HIT) in North Dakota. Works to improve
healthcare quality, patient safety, and the efficiency of
healthcare and public health services. Includes training
resources for rural providers.
North Dakota Hospital Association
Represents hospitals and health-related member
organizations throughout North Dakota. Provides a venue for
discussion and advocacy to create an understanding of the
healthcare needs and delivery of healthcare services in
North Dakota Public Health Association
Works to improve and promote the health of all residents of
North Dakota. Supports programs and efforts on a variety of
topics, such as environmental health, emergency response,
health policy, injury prevention, nursing, nutrition, and
North Dakota Qualified Service Provider Hub
Provides technical assistance, training, support, and educational tools to for qualified service providers (QSPs) and QSP agencies in North Dakota. Supports community-based services across the state, including in rural and tribal areas.
North Dakota State Office of Rural Health
Helps the rural communities in North Dakota build
healthcare services through collaboration. Works with
hospitals and other healthcare related facilities.
Administers the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program
(FLEX), Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP),
and provides grant development assistance.
North Dakota Telepharmacy Project
Provides telepharmacy services to remote locations in North
Dakota. Collaborates to expand access to quality healthcare
nationwide, primarily in rural and medically underserved

Serves as North Dakota's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS) Quality Innovation Network-Quality
Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO). Provides quality
improvement expertise and services through contracts with
federal and state governments.
