Oct 22, 2020 - The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced the latest Provider Relief Fund (PRF) application period has been expanded to include provider applicants such as residential treatment facilities, chiropractors, and eye and vision providers that have not yet received distributions. Applications for Phase 3 funding will be accepted until November 6, 2020.

Oct 1, 2020 - The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced $20 billion in new funding for providers on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic. Explains that providers who have already received funding through the Provider Relief Fund are allowed to apply for additional funding and some previously ineligible providers are also invited. The application window is October 5 – November 6, 2020.

Oct 1, 2020 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced they are now accepting applications for four key loan guarantee programs under the OneRD Guarantee Loan Initiative. The USDA launched a common loan guarantee application for the following programs: Water and Waste Disposal Loan Guarantee Program, Community Facilities Guaranteed Loan Program, Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan Program, and Rural Energy for America Guaranteed Loan Program.

Sep 22, 2020 - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced $341 million in funding to 55 states, territories and nonprofit organizations through the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program and an additional $16 million in funding to the State Maternal Health Innovation (State MHI) Program to improve maternal health outcomes. Administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration, the funding will support pregnant women and families in at-risk communities.

Sep 22, 2020 - Notice of a final rule from the Rural Business-Cooperative Service, Rural Housing Service, and Rural Utilities Service implementing statutory provisions found in Section 6401 of the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018. Section 6401 expands Strategic Economic and Community Development plans to include all programs covered by Title XIV of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act (CONACT) or programs administered through the Rural Development mission area. The name of SECD plans is updated to "Strategic Community Investment Plans." This rule is effective September 22, 2020.

Sep 15, 2020 - The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Community Health Access and Rural Transformation (CHART) Model Community Transformation Track. 15 rural communities will be chosen to receive up-front funding from the Community Transformation Track to help design systems that improve access high quality care.

Sep 15, 2020 - Announcement from USDA's Rural Business-Cooperative Service inviting applications for loans and grants under the Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant (REDLG) Programs for fiscal year 2021. Awards will be made based on the amount of funding available through the appropriations process. Projects should focus on achieving e-connectivity for rural communities, developing the rural economy, and supporting the rural workforce, among other things.

Sep 14, 2020 - The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded $25 million to 80 recipients across 36 states and two territories as part of the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP). The funding aims to reduce morbidity and mortality of substance use disorder and opioid use disorder in rural communities.
