Local Economy Lab: Funding to Support Coal Communities in Transition
Funding and technical assistance to help coal communities build community-led economic transition projects. Community-driven solutions will be across 3 strategy areas: workforce development, entrepreneurship/small business support, and place-based infrastructure.

Suicide Prevention ESSENCE Rapid Response Plans
Funding for the utilization of surveillance data for suicide prevention in Tennessee using the Electronic Surveillance System for the Early Notification of Community-Based Epidemics (ESSENCE) database and alert system. Grants will support rural health councils to develop and implement county-level response plans for when an ESSENCE alert is received.

Region IV Public Health and Primary Care Leadership Institute
A leadership and educational opportunity in the southeast region that focuses on adaptive leadership in public health and primary care. Participants will experience group and individual assignments, panels, lectures, webinars, and discussions, and use problem-based learning to explore real-life situations leaders face in the field.

Delta Regional Authority States Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP)
Grants to help Delta communities create jobs and improve infrastructure. Funds may be used for basic public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, broadband, and business development including entrepreneurship and workforce training.

Tennessee Rural Health Awards
Honorary awards for programs and people who are working to improve rural health in Tennessee.

Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) J-1 Visa Waiver Program
Offers a J-1 Visa waiver to foreign physicians who commit to serving for 3 years in rural Appalachian areas, allowing them to remain in the United States.

Delta Doctors J-1 Visa Waiver Program
Offers a J-1 Visa waiver to foreign physicians who commit to serving for 3 years in an approved area of the Delta region, allowing them to remain in the United States.

Delta Region Community Health Systems Development Program Technical Assistance
Technical assistance for selected hospitals, clinics, and their communities in the Delta Region to make in-depth health system enhancements.

Emory University CAPES Academy for Nursing Preceptors
Training and ongoing support for registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses transitioning into the role of clinical faculty or preceptors serving areas or need within the Southeast.

Invest Appalachia Fund
Loans and technical assistance to support sectors and industries that are driving economic diversification, local ownership, and community wealth building in Central Appalachia.
