Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC): Grant Initiative for the Appalachian, Delta, and Northern Border Regions
Grants for projects in the Appalachian, Lower Mississippi Delta, and Northern Border regions that will provide career, training, and support services to eligible individuals in eligible counties and parishes. Grants will support workforce development activities that prepare dislocated workers, new entrants to the workforce, and incumbent workers for good jobs in high-demand occupations aligned with a regional or community economic development strategy. High demand industries include manufacturing, IT, healthcare, business, and energy.

Local Economy Lab: Funding to Support Coal Communities in Transition
Funding and technical assistance to help coal communities build community-led economic transition projects. Community-driven solutions will be across 3 strategy areas: workforce development, entrepreneurship/small business support, and place-based infrastructure.

Rural Hospital Provider Assistance Program
Direct financial assistance for rural hospitals facing structural payment disadvantages with the goal of maintenance of healthcare providers, which will in turn maintain essential health services and prevent avoidable hospital closures.

Appalachia READY Local Governments Training
Training to help local government officials in the Appalachian region better identify, secure, manage, and implement federally funded economic development projects.

Delta Regional Authority States Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP)
Grants to help Delta communities create jobs and improve infrastructure. Funds may be used for basic public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, broadband, and business development including entrepreneurship and workforce training.

Delta States Rural Development Network Program
Grants to support the planning, development, and implementation of integrated healthcare networks within the Delta Region that collaborate to achieve efficiencies; expand access to, coordinate, and improve the quality of basic healthcare services and associated health outcomes; and strengthen the rural healthcare system as a whole.

Delta Leadership Institute Executive Academy
An educational opportunity that trains leaders from diverse backgrounds, sectors, and industries to improve the economic competitiveness and social viability of the Delta region, with an emphasis on economic, public health, educational, and infrastructure challenges.

Tennessee Rural Health Awards
Honorary awards for programs and people who are working to improve rural health in Tennessee.

Delta Regional Authority Community Infrastructure Fund
Funding for community-based and regional projects in the Delta Regional Authority service area that address basic public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, and flood control. Broadband and public health are also program priorities.

Medical Student Education Program
Grants for public medical schools to expand or support education for medical students preparing to become physicians in states with primary care provider shortages. The program focus is on supporting careers in primary care in rural and other areas with a primary care provider shortage.
