Module 1: Introduction to Rural Mobile Healthcare

This module provides an overview of rural mobile healthcare and introduces some of the unique considerations, challenges, and facilitators related to implementation in rural settings. The goals of these programs are to increase access to essential healthcare and social services for people who face barriers to care and to reduce avoidable use of emergency care and hospital resources.

This module provides important background information needed before developing and implementing rural mobile healthcare programs. It also describes how mobile healthcare programs can benefit rural communities.
